Formed in 1996, Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which became certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Released during the peak of the nu metal scene, the album's singles' heavy airplay on MTV led the singles "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all to chart highly on the US Mainstream Rock chart. The lattermost also crossed over to the nation's Billboard Hot 100. Their second album, Meteora (2003), continued the band's success. The band explored experimental sounds on their third album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). By the end of the decade, Linkin Park was among the most successful and popular rock acts.
The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types on their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds. The band's fifth album, Living Things (2012), combined musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound, and their seventh album, One More Light (2017), was a substantially more pop-oriented record. Linkin Park went on a hiatus when longtime lead vocalist Bennington died in July 2017. In April 2022, Shinoda revealed the band was neither working on new music nor planning on touring for the foreseeable future.
Linkin Park is among the best-selling bands of the 21st century and the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have won two Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards and three World Music Awards. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium. Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade list. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as "The Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now" by Kerrang!.

You were that foundation
Never gonna be another one, no
I followed, so taken
So conditioned, I could never let go
Then sorrow, then sickness
Then the shock when you flip it on me
So afraid, I couldn't let myself see
That I could never be held
Back or up, no, I'll hold myself
Check the rep, yep, you know mine well
Forget the rest let them know my hell
Damn, I'm back yep, my soul ain't sell
Kept respect up, the best they fell
Let the rest be the tale they tell
That I was there, saying
And these promises broken
Deep below
Each word gets lost in the echo
So one last lie I can see through
This time I finally let you
Go, go, go
Test my will, test my heart
Let me tell you how the odds gonna stack up
Y'all go hard, I go smart
How's that working out for y'all in the back, huh?
I've seen that frustration
Been crossed and lost and told no
And I've come back unshaken
Let down and lived and let go
So you can let it be known
I don't hold back, I hold my own
I can't be mapped, I can't be cloned
I can't C-flat, it ain't my tone
I can't fall back, I came too far
Hold myself up and love my scars
Let the bells ring wherever they are
'Cause I was there saying
In these promises broken
Deep below
Each word gets lost in the echo
So one last lie I can see through
This time I finally let you go
Go
Go
Go
Go
Go
No, you can tell 'em all now
I don't back up, I don't back down
I don't fold up, and I don't bow
I don't roll over, don't know how
I don't care where the enemies are
Can't be stopped, all I know, go hard
Won't forget how I got this far
For every time, saying
And these promises broken
Deep below
Each word gets lost in the echo
So one last lie I can see through
This time I finally let you
(Go) go
(Go) go
(Go) go
(Go) go
(Go) go
(Go) go

"Lost In The Echo" by Linkin Park is a song about self-reflection and learning to let go of past relationships that have caused pain and heartache. The song describes the pain of holding onto a relationship that has ended badly and how difficult it can be to move on. The lyrics talk about the foundation of the relationship that was so strong that the singer couldn't let go, even though it caused sorrow, sickness, and viciousness. The song highlights that it was difficult for the singer to see that the relationship was only causing them harm, and they couldn't let go of the false promises they were given.
The lyrics also discuss the frustration of letting go of the past, with each promise made by the other person being forgotten in the echo of their words. The singer describes how they have been tested multiple times but have never backed down from the challenge. They have seen the frustration and disappointment that comes with holding onto a relationship that doesn't serve them anymore. The song talks about how the singer has finally decided to let go of the other person and move on. They have learned from their experiences and are now holding their own.
In essence, "Lost In The Echo" is about finding the strength within oneself to let go of a relationship that was once so important but is now only causing pain and suffering. It encourages listeners to move on and let go of the past and not hold onto relationships that are not serving them anymore.

You were that foundation
You were the base of my life
Never gonna be another one, no
You were unique, there won't be anyone like you
I followed, so taken
I was influenced by you, so much so that I couldn't help it
So conditioned I could never let go
I was trained to follow you and it became difficult to leave you
Then sorrow, then sickness
Then I felt sadness and then I fell ill
Then the shock when you flip it on me
Then I was surprised when you reacted towards me differently
So hollow, so vicious
So empty, so cruel
So afraid I couldn't let myself see
So scared that I couldn't let myself realize the truth
That I could never be held
I could never be restrained
Back up, no, I'll hold myself
I won't rely on anyone for support
Check the rep, yep you know my rail
Check my reputation, you know where I stand
Forget the rest let them know my hell
Ignore the others, let them know about my hardships
Damn, I'm back yep, my soul ain't sell
I'm back and my soul is still mine, not for sale
Kept respect up the vets stay their
Respected the veterans and stayed with them
Let the rest be to tell they tale
Let the others tell their story
That I was there saying
That I was there, speaking up for myself
And these promises broken
These commitments I made that I couldn't keep
Deep below
Buried deep inside
Each word gets lost in the echo
Each word fades away and loses its impact
So one last lie I can see through
So I can see through one last deception
This time I finally let you
This time I finally let go of you
Go, go, go
Leave, go away
Test my will, test my heart
Challenge my determination, test my emotions
Let me tell you how the odds gonna stack up
Let me inform you how things will go down
Y'all go hard, I go smart
You all work hard, I work smart
How's it working out for y'all in the back, huh?
How is your strategy working for you?
I've seen that frustration
I've observed that you're frustrated
Been crossed and lost and told no
I've been mistreated and at a loss, with no one to confide in
And I've come back unshaken
But I've returned unshaken
Let down and lived and let go
I've been disappointed, but I've learned to live with it and move on
So you can let it be known
So it can be expressed
I don't hold back, I hold my own
I don't hesitate, I take control
I can't be mapped, I can't be cloned
I can't be replicated or copied
I can't C-flat, it ain't my tone
I can't sing off-key, it's not my nature
I can't fall back, I came too far
I can't regress, I've come too far
Hold myself up and love my scars
I keep myself up and cherish my scars as signs of resilience
Let the bells ring wherever they are
Let the celebration commence, wherever it may be
'Cause I was there saying
Because I was present, vocally expressing myself
No, you can tell 'em all now
You can now tell everyone
I don't back up, I don't back down
I don't step back or retreat
I don't fold up, and I don't bow
I don't give in or sacrifice my beliefs
I don't roll over, don't know how
I don't give up or know how to surrender
I don't care where the enemies are
I don't care where my opponents are
Can't be stopped, all I know go hard!
I can't be halted, all I know is to push harder!
Won't forget how I got this far
I won't forget how I reached this point
For every time, saying
Every time, voicing my opinion
And these promises broken
And these commitments unfulfilled
Deep below
Deep inside
Each word gets lost in the echo
Each word fades away and loses its significance
So one last lie I can see through
So I can perceive through one final deception
This time I finally let you
This time I finally let go of you
Go, go, go
Leave, go away

To this day, this song and this music video don't fail to amaze me.
First off, how the entire music in the video perfectly fits the song title, through the tunes echoing throughout the track.
And then there's the video, which perfectly, again, correlates to the song title and its meaning: how the "angel" (guy with the briefcase handing out pictures) is there for the purpose of helping trapped souls (the people in the abandoned buildings) who had passed away but aren't yet free from the chains of attachment they have to their loved ones (the people appearing from the first set of pictures), and so, they wander about in the abandoned locality desperately.
Their "each word gets lost in the echo" because their cries and shouts cannot be heard by their loved ones who have survived them and who also are trying to cope with their passing.
And how towards the end when all of them realize the importance of having to let their living counterparts go so they can move on and continue to live on in the world, the angel utters the chants leading to the spirits finally turning to ashes, therefore being finally free, turning into a picture, not more than a memory.
The impact Linkin Park has had as a group of artists, to me personally, is severe, unique, irreplaceable. Their lyrics and distinctive sound conveying powerful messages on our relations, feelings, hurt, kindness and love.
@metawolf987
I don't know what this song means to other people, but to me, it deals with death, loss, grief, acceptance, and moving on.
The story in the music video as I see it: The young man with the suitcase is a Reaper Of Souls. He has come to Earth, the plane of the living, to take those who have shed their mortal coil, for they do not belong in the plane of the living anymore. However, these souls are trapped, unable to move on, emotionally tethered to the loved ones they can no longer reach in their current ethereal state.
To help these trapped souls move on, the Reaper shows each soul the reason they are trapped. Photographs representing the loved ones they can no longer reach, but still cannot let go of. These "photographs" however, are actually "portals" that transport the souls to the living loved ones they left behind. At first glance, it seems as if the portals brought the living to the dead. However, upon deeper thought, it can be interpreted that the souls are visiting their living relatives in a "dream state". I don't know who believes what, but I, personally, believe that spirits can visit us in our dreams and even communicate with us.
Anyway, as each soul interacts with their living loved ones, it becomes clear that the living have also not let go of the dead. However, each one of the living finally approaches their breaking point. As the photographs of the living start to disappear, I believe this symbolizes the reality that the dead can no longer reach/coexist alongside their surviving loved ones as they once could. It could also symbolize that as the living are about to let go of the dead, the living will finally be completely out of reach for the dead.
Once each person finishes letting go of the loved one they lost, the dead can no longer remain on the plane of the living. The Reaper feels the moment approaching, and prepares himself. One by one, each soul shatters and disperses into a cloud of dust, and the souls become photographs themselve. This time the photographs of the dead most likely representing that they are now nothing more than a memory. Perhaps the photographs of the living were also memories. Memories which were links to the souls of the living. The Reaper's job now complete, he collects the souls and leaves.

Quran readers, believers still in hell after time on earth. Heaven is for the Christians who do the WILL OF GOD:
- KEEP
- PREACH
- WATCH,
- EXPOSE
Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
muslims are out from heaven, they are in hell,
new agers out from heaven, in hell,
ignorants out from heaven, in hell
indus, out from heaven, in hell,
atheists, out from heaven, in hell,
lukewarm Christians, out from heaven, in hell.
Bible clears out who go into heaven, FEW.
So, why keep following many, if only few shall go into heaven?
Matthew 7:13
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Psalms 27:11
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
Proverbs 1:15
My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
Proverbs 4:14
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
