Formed in 1996, Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which became certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Released during the peak of the nu metal scene, the album's singles' heavy airplay on MTV led the singles "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all to chart highly on the US Mainstream Rock chart. The lattermost also crossed over to the nation's Billboard Hot 100. Their second album, Meteora (2003), continued the band's success. The band explored experimental sounds on their third album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). By the end of the decade, Linkin Park was among the most successful and popular rock acts.
The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types on their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds. The band's fifth album, Living Things (2012), combined musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound, and their seventh album, One More Light (2017), was a substantially more pop-oriented record. Linkin Park went on a hiatus when longtime lead vocalist Bennington died in July 2017. In April 2022, Shinoda revealed the band was neither working on new music nor planning on touring for the foreseeable future.
Linkin Park is among the best-selling bands of the 21st century and the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have won two Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards and three World Music Awards. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium. Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade list. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as "The Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now" by Kerrang!.

Linkin Park Lyrics

Do you think it was worth holding out?
I mean I've heard some pretty ugly things about those guys
Ugly stories
Watch them flee... watch them flee
Rap rap rap up
Watch them flee
And you do it like this
It's going down
The rhythm projects 'round the next sound
Reflects the complex hybrid dialect now
Detects the mesh of many elements compressed down
The melting pot of a super-futuresque style
The combination of vocal caress
With lungs the gasp for breath
From emotional stress
With special effects
And a distorted collage
Carefully lodged between beats of rhythmic barrage
It's going down
The logical progression on the timeline
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey
Now it's going down
A logical progression on the timeline
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey
Now it's going down
Put it out for the world to see
LP and X-Men to the 10th degree (It's goin down)
Nobody in the world is safe
When we melt down the wax in your record crate (It's going down)
Once again it is
Composed sentences
All together venomous
The four elements of natural force
Projected daily through the sound of the source
Everybody on board as we blend
The sword with the pen
The mightiest the weapons
Swinging right from the chin
To elevate of mental states
Long gone with the wind
To defend men from shoddy imitation pretends
It's going down
Style assimilation readily
Trekking through the weaponry
Of the pure pedigree
Cleverly seeing through whatever is ahead of me
Whatever the weather be
We invent the steadily
It's going down sub-terrestrial high
I rhyme regiment that's calling the shots
Exectution of colloborative plots
Ready to bring the seperation of style to a stop
X-men 'bout to blast off world wide
Yo it's a request only
X-men 'bout to blast off world wide
It's built from scratch
Album in stores soon
'Bout to blast off world wide
And you do it like this
Just like this
Put put... put it up
I said it goes like this
And you do it like this
It's going down
Put put... put it up
I said it goes like this
And you do it like this
It's going down

The lyrics to the Linkin Park song Mike are quite complex and are difficult to interpret. It seems like the song talks about the singer being threatened, and he wonders whether it was worth holding out. He then talks about hearing some ugly stories about those guys who threatened him. The song talks about some rap and hip-hop hits and how the singer watches them flee as the rhythm projects the next sound. It seems like the song is introducing an atmospheric, futuristic style that combines different elements of vocal caressing with special effects.
The song talks about a logical progression on the timeline with the separation narrowed down to a fine line. The lyrics refer to the melding of different elements to create a futuristic style that takes listeners on an audible odyssey. The lyrics uphold the significance of linguistic and stylistic purity while also defending against imitation. The song comes to a climax as the X-Men blast off worldwide, with the song's final lines emphasizing the singer's incredible ability to create mesmerizing music.

If you notice
Majority of songs are like this
The meaning the lyrics
His songs were telling us he will be gone
No more sorrow
Given up
Somewhere I belong
One step closer to the edge
No roads left
Good goodbye
Runaway
Waiting for the end to come
Leave out all the rest :- when my time comes .... Keep me in your memory leave out all the rest ..

You'd be surprised how much respect this band got all over the world. I was a fan. I am a fan. And many others like me, people who recognizend the massive talent of these guys. Some people made jokes about them but the fact of the matter is...they were original, they had a message and they touched the hearts of millions.
