Formed in 1996, Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which became certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Released during the peak of the nu metal scene, the album's singles' heavy airplay on MTV led the singles "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all to chart highly on the US Mainstream Rock chart. The lattermost also crossed over to the nation's Billboard Hot 100. Their second album, Meteora (2003), continued the band's success. The band explored experimental sounds on their third album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). By the end of the decade, Linkin Park was among the most successful and popular rock acts.
The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types on their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds. The band's fifth album, Living Things (2012), combined musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound, and their seventh album, One More Light (2017), was a substantially more pop-oriented record. Linkin Park went on a hiatus when longtime lead vocalist Bennington died in July 2017. In April 2022, Shinoda revealed the band was neither working on new music nor planning on touring for the foreseeable future.
Linkin Park is among the best-selling bands of the 21st century and the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have won two Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards and three World Music Awards. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium. Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade list. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as "The Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now" by Kerrang!.

You wanna talk about your sores
You wanna talk about suffering
Maybe sympathy is all you're really hungry for
′Cause you just criticize and you fingerpoint
And you say that they beat you down
You may be victimized but you're still the one
I used to be as innocent as you
My excuses ran out, ran out of things to complain about
Fear will always find a way to show right through
You want to be more hurt than me
You want to say you′re more the victim
You wanna complain and pass the blame
You want to say you′re more the victim
(You want, you-you want, you want you want)
You wanna talk constantly about misery
And how you've been done so wrong
You wanna badge your honеsty and exaggerate
All thе stress that you′ve undergone
There's never a compromise, no one can say
That they′ve ever been hurt before
They may be victimized, but you'll always say
That you′re a victim so much more
I used to be as innocent as you
My excuses ran out, ran out of things to complain about
Fear will always find a way to show right through
You want to be more hurt than me
You want to say you're more the victim
You wanna complain and pass the blame
You want to say you're more the victim
You wanna be just another someone
Somebody angry, somebody broken
You wanna be that
Than being all alone
You want to be more hurt than me
You want to say you′re more the victim
You wanna complain and pass the blame
You want to say you′re more the victim
You want to be more hurt than me
You want to say you're more the victim
You wanna complain and pass the blame
Pass the blame, pass the blame
The lyrics to Linkin Park's song More the Victim convey a message about how some people become consumed by their own suffering and want to be seen as the ultimate victim. The song opens with the singer expressing how they have endlessly listened to someone else's injury and their constant need to talk about their sores and suffering. However, the singer suggests that perhaps what this person really wants is sympathy and attention rather than a genuine desire for healing.
The chorus of the song emphasizes this idea of wanting to be seen as the ultimate victim. The singer explains how some people want to constantly talk about their misery, exaggerate their problems, and pass the blame to others. They want to be able to say that they are more hurt than anyone else and that they are the biggest victim. The singer then reveals that they used to be just as innocent as this person, but eventually, they ran out of excuses to complain and realized that fear will always find a way to show right through.
The overall message of the song seems to be a warning about the dangers of becoming too consumed with one's suffering and victimhood. It's important to acknowledge and heal from pain, but constantly dwelling on these negative emotions can prevent growth and progress. Instead, the song encourages listeners to be mindful of their own tendencies towards victimhood and strive for self-awareness and self-improvement.

@dj4feit I think we have most of the polished MTM tracks:
1. Voices/Chance of Rain
2. What we don't know
3. Blackbirds
4. QWERTY
5. No Roads Left
6. The Last Line
7. Pretend to be (debatably from MTM)
8. Not Alone
Then we have half-finished stuff too:

-Debris
Hopefully there is more, but I don't think anything like More The Victim or Lost are in the vault

This would have been a top 10 all-time Linkin Park song, and easily the best song out of Meteora. I can already imagine how the shows with this song in the set could have been, with Chester leaning over the edge of the stage and people jumping in the chorus! This is a HIT!
The synth and melody are so beautiful, it has a sadness to it, but it's a beautiful kind of sadness. And the chorus just explodes with energy! It gives a good contrast to the song, and it was done so well!
I wish I could have been in the room with them when they made this one. This is one of my top favourite songs by them now!
It has the feeling as though this song is the bridge between "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora," like this was one of the earlier Meteora songs they made. The instrument sound and delivery sound as if it was made back in Hybrid Theory days, but it also sounds more mature than what was on "Hybrid Theory". Yet it has something that I can find in songs from "Minutes to Midnight," and "Living Things".
This is honestly getting better and better as I listen to it more and more. Honestly, this could have been their best song ever with a bit more work. I absolutely love it.
I wish Chester were here to sing it live.
Thinking about that right now, wanting to not lose Chester is selfish. It was hard being Chester. He did not want to go, but he was trapped in the corner, and he felt like, at that time, this was the only way to stop hurting. It's a conflict between loving him and wishing he wouldn't leave us, thus making him suffer this torturous life he had. For most people life is good, yeah, we all get the occasional down or sad day, but now imagine living like this for most of your life. This is the real and true nature of depression.
RIP Chester, you're missed dearly.

How Linkin Park has had a song that they made 20 years ago sound like it just came out today is still so mind blowing. They were always so far ahead of the game.
@MrTowfiq
Isn’t that amazing! First time I heard in the end I knew back then man that sounds like timeless even now sounds so modern! And ATS takes you to future of music! Linkin Park truly evolved what a band!!!

Easy explained.. Chester isn't really dead. But the public is thinking that he is, so he has to hide his entire life to protect his beloved ones. This song is new, freshly recorded but linkin park is making us think that the newly released songs are 20+ years old
@Ner0mancer
@m1k3sh1n0da yeah he's hiding from the child traffickers

Even their demos from 20 years ago are far better than todays music tbh....
