If you lose control of this force or it falls apart, there is nowhere to hide or escape the consequences.

As this force or situation gets out of your control, it can be surreal and hard to believe.

They're dealing you in to determine your end
Other people or circumstances are deciding your fate and what will happen to you.

And sending you back again to places you've been
You might feel like you're stuck in a cycle or repeating the same mistakes or situations over and over.

And bending your will, til' it breaks you within
These outside forces can be so strong that they start to break you down emotionally and mentally until you can't take it anymore.

And still they fill their eyes
Despite the negative impact on you, those in control still seem satisfied and content with their actions.

With the twilight, through the skylight
As everything falls apart, it can be like watching a beautiful sunset through a skylight, almost mesmerizing.

In my highlights, on a frame of steel
You're trying to hold onto any positive memories or moments, but it's like trying to preserve them on a strong, cold frame.

See the brightness of your likeness
You can see the light and potential within yourself and others, but it can be clouded by the darkness around you.

As I write this on a pad about the way I feel
The only way to express these complex emotions is through writing, trying to put your feelings into words.

Hear the screaming in my dreaming
Even in your dreams, you can't escape the turmoil and distress of reality.

Has it seeming that you played your part
You start to question if you're the reason for this situation, if you played a part in causing it to become so out of control.

Like you're heartless, take apart this in the darkness
Others might see your attempts to fix things and regain control as cold and heartless, especially if you have to resort to doing it behind closed doors.

But I know that I've tried so hard
Despite others' negative perceptions, you know that you have done everything in your power to improve the situation.

And got so far
You've gone through a lot and come a long way in trying to fix things.

But in the end, it doesn't even matter
Despite your best efforts, the outcome might not change or be what you want it to be.

I had to fall to lose it all
Sometimes, in order to learn and grow, you have to hit rock bottom or lose everything you once had.

I looked down the line
You're taking a step back and assessing the situation from a wider perspective.

And what's there is not what ought-to-be
When you do this, you realize that the current reality is not what it should be and something needs to change.

Held back by the battles they fought for me
You might feel like others' actions or sacrifices in the past are now holding you back from improving the present.

Calling me to be part of their property
Others might treat you like an object or possession, something to be controlled or manipulated for their own benefit.

And know I see that I get no chance
You start to feel hopeless and like there's no way for you to change the situation or gain control.

I get no break, fakes and snakes quickly lead to mistakes
Every time you try to make progress, there's always someone or something standing in your way, like fake people or those with ulterior motives.

And as the tightrope within slowly starts to thin
As you lose more and more control over the situation, it feels like you're walking on a tightrope that's getting thinner and thinner until it eventually breaks.

I can only hope that they close their eyes
The only thing you can do now is hope that those in control don't see you struggle and suffer.

I've put my trust in you
You've given someone else control or entrusted them with something important.

Pushed as far as I can go
You've done all that you can do to help this situation.

For all this, there's only one thing you should know
Despite everything happening around you, there's still one important thing you want to tell someone, something they need to know.

I've tried so hard and got so far
You put forth so much effort and dedication to try and improve the situation.

But in the end, it doesn't even matter
Despite your best efforts, the outcome might not change, and it can be very disappointing and frustrating.

I had to fall to lose it all
Sometimes, in order to learn and grow, you have to experience failure or loss.

But in the end, it doesn't even matter
Despite how important or life-changing a situation may feel at the time, it might not even matter in the grand scheme of things.
