Sometimes
Linkin Park Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sometimes, things just seem to fall apart when you least expect them to
Sometimes, you want to pack up and leave behind all of them and all their smiles

I don't know what to think anymore
Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter
Maybe, maybe, maybe

Sometimes, people surprise you, and people surprise me
Well, I guess that's the price we pay for wanting so badly

I don't know what to think anymore
Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter
Maybe, maybe, maybe

I don't know what to think anymore
Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter
Maybe, maybe, maybe
I don't know what to think anymore
Maybe things will get better, maybe things will look brighter
Maybe, maybe, maybe

Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes

Overall Meaning

Linkin Park's song "Sometimes" explores the uncertainty and unpredictability of life. The lyrics speak to the feeling of things falling apart, wanting to escape and the sense of hopelessness that can arise from it. The use of repetition in the chorus emphasizes the uncertainty and the longing for things to improve, with the repetition of the word "maybe" suggesting the possibility of change, but also acknowledging the absence of certainty. The verses offer a deeper insight into the complexities of human relationships, highlighting the paradoxical nature of how people can both surprise and disappoint.

More specifically, the lyrics suggest a journey towards acceptance, a willingness to embrace the ambiguity of life, and a recognition of the futility of trying to control or predict the future. There is a sense of resignation in the song, but also an underlying sense of hope, suggesting that even amidst uncertainty, people can find ways to cope and persevere.

Can someone please tell me where I can find this version of the song (What's the name of the album). This is a "slit your wrists" tip of song. Just the right amount of depression melody brutal force and rawness . This one's a little rough around the edges (just the way i like it) Compared to the Gray Daze version which is more Elegant for my tast.
